Kapalua Bay

With gentle breaking waves above and vibrant marine life below, Kapalua Bay offers a sheltered sanctuary for exploring the wonders of the ocean. Kapalua Bay features a beach activity hut offering a snorkel and other water equipment rentals. Located at the end of the Kapalua Coastal Trail, or you can access with your vehicle or by utilizing the Kapalua Resort Shuttle. Kapalua Bay offers a parking lot and full facilities.
Ironwoods Horseback Riding
Ride into the sunset through the West Maui Mountains - located less than one mile from the resort.
For the adventurer at heart – take a ride through pineapple fields and Ironwood trees, with dramatic scenery of West Maui, Moloka'i and Lana’i. Rides are suitable for both the novice rider and experienced horseman.
Honolua Bay
World famous surfing and snorkel destination located just north of the resort.
Honolua Bay is located just north of Kapalua Resort. Since 1978, the area has been protected by the State of Hawaii as a Marine Conservation District. Fishing is strictly prohibited. Honolua Bay is an excellent location for summer snorkeling especially on the west (left-hand) side of the beach. In the winter months it attracts top surfers from around the world, with large winter swells and one of the best surf breaks on Maui. Surrounded by high rocky cliffs on both sides the bay is sheltered from the wind and keep the water calm during the summer. The cliffs also provide a great vantage point to watch surfers and the waves. Although Honolua Bay does not have a sandy beach, access to the snorkeling can be a fun adventure with an easy walk through a jungly tree shaded dirt path. There are no facilities or rental equipment available.
Kapalua Coastal Trail
Hike along Kapalua's impressive coastline.
This 1.76-mile coastal trail runs along the ocean from Kapalua Bay Beach to DT Fleming Beach, passing through the sand dunes of Oneloa Bay and The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.
Village Hiking Trails
This collection of six trails ranges from moderate to difficult follws the former cart path of the Village Golf Course and features panoramic views and a hidden lake.
D.T. Fleming Beach
Fronting The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Honokahua Bay (D.T. Fleming Beach) is a long golden sand beach that is perfect for running and sunning. This a popular location for is known for boogie boarding and surfing. Beach chair and umbrella service is available, beach parking and barbecues are a favorite among the locals. Beach front dining is available at the Burger Shack, dine at the outdoor restaurant or take your lunch to-go and enjoy on the beach!
Meditation Labyrinth Walk
Labyrinths used for meditation are based on patterns that date back thousands of years and have roots in many cultures and traditions. It is both kinesthetic and introspective, a complete mind-body integrative activity, while we visit a few of Maui's treasures including some of the most beautiful weathered rock formations.
Napili Farmers Market
The Napili Farmers Market offers fresh Maui-grown produce, as well as locally-made, unique products, such as Hawaiian honey, fresh juices, cultured macadamia nut spreads and dressing, along with handmade jewelry, artisan crafted organic kombucha, baked goodies, essential oils, organic and naturally leavened bread, locally sourced hot sauce, plants, and live Hawaiian music.
Nakahele Blowhole
To find the trail to Nakalele Blowhole, drive north from Kapalua for approximately 8 miles, and park when you see the mileage marker that says 38.5. There are numerous trails that criss-cross the landscape, and they all lead down to the blowhole, but the trail from mile marker 38.5 is not only the safest route, but also offers a look at the famous heart shaped hole in the rock. Please use caution as rocks are slippery - as a rule, stay on dry rocks.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua will convene Hawaii’s most reputable artisans, educators, cultural practitioners, speakers and entertainers during the annual Celebration of the Arts.
Opening ceremonies include traditional Hawaiian oli (chants) from Hawaiian practitioners while music and hula will be continuous throughout the weekend. Hands-on art, demonstrations, films, cultural panels, music and dance will act as the common ground to allow visitors and residents the opportunity to interact and enjoy the “Number 1 rated cultural event” according Modern Luxury Hawaii magazine. The Celebration of the Arts has also been the recipient of the coveted “Keep it Hawaii Kahili Award” presented by the Hawaii Tourism Association.
The Celebration of Island Tastes will culminate the weekend festivities and is a brand new twist on the traditional Celebration Lu’au and Show!
The Celebration After-Hours Party is the grand finale. The finest talent in Hawaii will take the stage with impromptu performances in a fun filled jam-session that reflects upon the spirit of aloha that the islands are known for.
